How is this villiage made? It was born from the aftermath of the Korean War. Yeah, the folks who weathered that storm built this haven.
And 2010s, and it got a makeover into the vibrant culture hub it is today. Now outsiders and domestics live together so you can see Korea’s past and present.

Pros of Huinnyeoul Culture Village

1. Spectacular Coastal Views:

Picture-perfect coastal vistas await you at every turn. It’s like stepping into a postcard – think colorful houses dotting the hillside and the calming presence of the ocean. And keep your eyes peeled for adorable decorations and furry friends adding to the charm!

2. Quaint Alleyway Adventures:

Stroll through the village’s maze-like alleyways and transport yourself back in time to the 1950s and 1960s. Aha, and also, it is made during Korean War. The old-world ambiance is palpable, offering a nostalgic journey through Korea’s history.

3. Affordable Eats and Treats than others:
In Korea, it’s common for cafés situated near rivers or boasting scenic views to charge premium prices. Typically, you’d expect to fork out around 8,000KRW to 11,000KRW for a regular americano coffee in such spots, whereas the average price ranges from 4,000KRW to 5,000KRW elsewhere. Surprisingly, despite its fame, Huinnyeoul Culture Village maintains a reasonable price point, with coffee still priced around 5,000KRW. It’s a testament to the village’s commitment to offering fair prices without any rip-offs. (This post is written on 2024.05.08)

Cons of Huinnyeoul Culture Village

1. Café Overload:

Seriously, it’s like they’re taking over the village. Though, cafe nearby the shore is cool, but can we still call it only constitue of cafe a “Culture Village”? I think it’s better to call “Cafe Culture Village”. What I mean is, there is no enough restaurants or regional food in this village. Actually, It wouldn’t be too much that there are only cafe in this village. Can we name this village “Culture Village”? I don’t think so. So if you expect to some Korean culture things, you’d better to stop thinking about it.

2. Ground Stability Concerns:

Hold up, engineer alert! I’m civil engineer. Have you ever noticed the ground feeling a bit shaky? So when I first saw appearance of the village, I was very suprised because the village seems dangerous about collapse.
The Korean government’s on it though – you might spot some reinforcement work happening around the village, ensuring everything stays rock solid in 2023-2024. It can be make you disappointed to lanscape a little but, it is still nice so you don’t need to worry about that too much.
